The primary trailer for Thelma, the June Squibb-starring comedy a few grandma going John Wick on senior scammers, has arrived.
Thelma follows Squibb as 93-year-old Thelma Submit, who’s duped out of $10,000 by cellphone scammers pretending to be her grandson (Fred Hechinger). After the police say they’ll’t assist her, she enlists the assistance of her buddy Ben (Richard Roundtree), and units out for revenge. Filling out the forged will likely be Parker Posey, Clark Gregg, Malcolm McDowell, and extra.
The movie is due in theaters on June twenty first, launched by way of Magnolia Footage. Watch the trailer under.
Thelma first premiered this previous January on the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. In her review, Consequence’s Liz Shannon Miller praised the movie’s combination of comedy and real depth of feeling, calling it a “love letter to grandmas.”
That is simply the newest undertaking for a still-quite-active Squibb, who appeared in Don’t Inform Mother the Babysitter’s Useless in April, and is about to have a task within the upcoming Inside Out 2. In the meantime, Hechinger is about to seem in one of many most anticipated films of 2024, Gladiator 2, and Posey has joined the cast of The White Lotus for the acclaimed present’s third season.
